Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer - Whitehorse, YT

The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team based in the City of Whitehorse ,YT. This position is available in our Whitehorse office. You will join our highly successful team, using your skills to assist in the management and execution of various high-profile and critical projects throughout BC and Yukon. WSP will support relocation and accommodation for candidates wishing to relocate.

The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team based in Terrace, BC. You will join our highly successful team, using your skills to assist in the execution of various high-profile and critical projects throughout BC and Yukon.

A day in the life:
  • You'll be working with interdisciplinary project teams that can offer high complexity work, and a chance to challenge yourself and what you've learned so far, and an opportunity push your skills to the next level with an experienced team and, collaborative managerswho are among the best in the industry;
  • You'll be responsible for developing / promoting / maintaining relationships with clients, as the primary point of contact;
  • You'll be responsible for managing geotechnical projects of various sizes;
  • You'll be responsible for leading proposals, making engineering decisions, and the delivery of projects;
  • You'll be working with more senior engineers to provide technical services in a field and office environment related to geotechnical engineering:
  • You'll be communicating regularly withthe wider WSP geotechnical community across Canada;
  • Participating and contributing to a team environment and being astrong communicator;
  • Promoting strong workplace health and safety practices;
  • You'll be representing WSP in the community to raise local brand awareness.

What you'll bring to WSP ...
  • Adegree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering as well as a professional engineering license in British Columbia (registered with EGBC).
  • You have an intermediate level of experience in the geotechnical field, ideally with consulting experience;
  • Experience in heavy civil geotechnical engineering applications including roads and highways, water and wastewater, tunneling and trenchless methods, slope stability, and numerical analysis;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong verbal and written communication in English are essential.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Strong technical, oral and written communication skills;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Geological Engineer, or related position;
  • Exceptional analytical and project management skills
