About the Job:

Mindwire is currently seeking a Java Software Developer to work for our valued Federal Government client.

The position is located in Ottawa, ON

Responsibilities:

• Build, design, upgrade, deploy and transition into the analytical platform as determined by the project schedule and client requirements

• Perform quality assurance and testing of existing and new systems, tools and web application features

• Adhere to security regulations at all phases of the software development lifecycle

• When required, support other developers of the ecosystems in their work

• Gather and/or analyze and document user requirements for use in designing solutions

• Provide technical development guidance including: Open-source best practices, Configuration setup to the project team members as needed, Module usage.

• Assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems within project

• Provide a brief report on what progress was accomplished at weekly scrum meetings

• Participation in ad-hoc discussions and team meetings as required

• Perform knowledge transfers to staff as needed after each major project release, including periodic spotlight presentations

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of five years of demonstrated hands on experience developing web-based applications using Java and JavaScript (React) with relational databases as the backend.

• Must have a minimum of three years of demonstrated hands on experience producing UX design including markup and styling (HTML/CSS).

• Minimum of two years of demonstrated hands on experience developing using IDEs preferably with Eclipse or IntelliJ? and demonstrated hands on experience developing using code repositories such as Git.

• Experience developing applications using Python.
