We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Governance and Risk Management Senior Consultant to join our Information Technology Risk Services team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AI technologies, governance frameworks, and risk management practices. This role will involve advising clients on best practices for AI governance, developing risk management strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards.

From analyzing and assessing business processes to improving client performance, you'll be building strong relationships with our people and developing professional skills that will help set you up for success.
  • Support our Risk Consulting teams (Governance, Risk & Compliance Services, Technology Risk Services, Cyber, Forensics, Financial Risk Management) and work in collaboration with other KPMG service lines (Lighthouse, Deal Advisory, Management Consulting, Audit, Tax) in a cross-functional role to identify, develop and deploy a variety of AI governance and risk management solutions.
  • Work closely with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to understand key business issues.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques and your understanding of AI governance, data governance and data management to solve challenging business problems.
  • Leverage a diverse set of technologies and tools to deliver insights. Work with large volumes of data (structured and unstructured).
  • Help clients set-up AI governance practices, review existing AI maturity and risk management practices and advise clients on best practices to manage and monitor AI solutions.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, perform relevant analyses, and interpret results to develop impactful recommendations and solutions.
  • Assist with the development of analytical procedures and templates that can be deployed to others to increase the capabilities of the wider team.
  • Assist with the design and conduct training and information sessions with KPMG practitioners from across the firm.
  • Assist with drafting professional reports and other client deliverables, such as interactive dashboards, presentation materials and demos, findings and recommendations, summaries of analytical results and insights, etc.
  • Establish credibility and develop relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Provide support/assistance for identification of business opportunities, development of proposals, and prospective client presentations.
  • Support client workshops to analyze current state operating models, architecture and analytics functions and co-develop and aspirational future state of data and analytics
What you bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specific focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Master's degree preferred in Management of AI technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AI governance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and ethical considerations in AI.
  • Strong understanding of the latest AI regulations and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL to analyze AI model performance and risk metrics.
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their implications for risk, including supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, and natural language processing.
  • Skills in using monitoring tools and dashboards (e.g., TensorBoard, MLflow) to track AI model performance and identify anomalies.
  • Understanding of ethical considerations in AI, including bias detection and mitigation techniques, fairness assessments, and transparency measures.
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles to assess risks related to data breaches and model vulnerabilities.
  • Proven experience in developing governance frameworks and risk management strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Thriving on challenges and work best in a fast-paced environment where each day is different.
  • Working well in a project team environment and have strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain data and analytics concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Ability to apply data and analytics concepts to business problems.
  • Ability to understand and explain business value of data and analytics concepts, including data governance and management fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of basic machine learning to collaborate with the team on ML projects.
  • Experience in visual exploration to perform data discovery and highlight insights.
  • Knowledge of how specific visual components drive usability and understanding.
  • A knack at telling a story with purpose. Strong facilitation and collaboration abilities to conduct discussions and workshop with engineers and business analyst to advocate for positive user experience and recommend potential solutions to identified problems.
