Residing within Enterprise Protect organization, the Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) Technology team is responsible for the delivery and support of technology solutions for the respective GAML business unit. Given the ongoing pace of regulatory change and ongoing importance of risk management, this is a fast-growing area within the bank translating into considerable demand and growth within its technology teams.

About This Role

We are looking for a senior Engineer for our Oracle Transaction Monitoring solution to bring Oracle FCCM design, development and delivery into the TD Technology Solutions team. You will also have the opportunity to provide technical guidance and leadership beyond your immediate project on significant strategic initiatives to modernize the technology and capabilities to align with the portfolio and enterprise technology roadmaps.

The primary responsibility of our team is to design, develop and maintain the AML technology platform that processes the banks payments through behaviour detection algorithms to detect suspicious and fraudulent activity.

The open role is for a person who has a very good understanding of capacity planning , infrastructure design and maintenance in the AML domain with a key focus on Oracle products. The person will work with other designers and developers in order to deliver work around Exadata performance tuning, capacity planning for key releases, work with support teams to identify and resolve infrastructure issues and overall lead the infrastructure space for the strategic AML platform for Customer Risk Rating and Transaction Monitoring.

  • Overseeing and managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the AML platform IT infrastructure
  • Responsible to work with the various stakeholders , especially the compliance business teams, to understand and document requirements and then work with the broader engineering team to deliver these infrastructure changes into production.
  • Work with technology partners to ensure that environment modifications interact appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements.
  • Ensure scheduled changes take place with proper testing, monitoring, and implementation and with little or no adverse impact to the business.
  • Oversee the integration of all systems, projects and technical interfaces to ensure a high level of service and support to the client and efficient system operation.
  • Lead effort to test, debug, and performance analyze and document environment components.
  • Foster an environment and culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism.
  • Act as an escalation point for all risks and infrastructure issues affecting the development team, and for working to define and implement mitigation strategies.

Job Requirements:

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
  • University degree, preferably in technology/ engineering
  • At least 15 plus years of experience with designing and delivering large scale enterprise grade applications preferably in Financial Services
  • Demonstrated advanced level experience in performance tuning with Oracle Exadata
  • Strong experience with Capacity planning and infrastructure design experience in the AML domain
  • Good Experience with tuning Oracle FCCM scenario tuning
  • Very good understanding of how a typical AML batch works to generate Cases and the workflow till SAR/STR is filed.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PL/SQL, stored procedures on Oracle database is required
  • Excellent understanding of KYC party related reference data and the associated attributes and their usage for risk calculations in KYC and TM scenarios.
  • Exposure to big data and analytics platforms on Hadoop or on data lake platforms on the public cloud is a big plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to forge strong relationships with key business partners, understand financial markets and regulation and apply analytics to drive commercial value
