  • What's the job?
    The Financial Education Manager designs, develops, and delivers a comprehensive, evolving financial education program, a signature program for Coast Capital. In addition to delivering Financial Education in our local communities, they partner with other departments to assess needs, design and develop learning-based solutions, identify externally suitable programs when needed, and conduct evaluations of program delivery and business impact. The Financial Education Manager will leverage their deep understanding of financial principles and a passion for education as they deliver financial education curriculum virtually and in-person to Members and Community.

    What you'll get to do:
  • Applies cognitive and adult learning theory to lead the design and implementation of financial empowerment learning solutions tailored to members and the community, including at-risk populations, branch settings, and small businesses.
  • Leads a team of financial education volunteers within the organization, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the effective and consistent delivery of financial education services.
  • Identifies and addresses learning gaps among our membership by analyzing branch and community feedback and evaluating organizational performance issues. Provides recommendations for effective solutions that align with individual learning needs and business objectives.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote financial education and generate short-term, demonstrable results while holding a long-term perspective and overall program growth.
  • Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness through data collection and analysis and provides regular reports on program outcomes and impact.
  • Leads the delivery of both virtual and in-person learning sessions for both members and the community, managing the learning environment to create a positive learning experience and ensuring program outcomes are met.
  • Collaborates with the business lines, strategy division, and others to prioritize content development for members and the community related to Coast's business objectives and embed relevant financial education resources and tools into the advice continuum where appropriate. Ensures all products and services developed and delivered comply with Coast's brand, quality standards and relevant regulations.
  • Provides guidance and expertise on eLearning solutions and best practices and creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of learning to our members and communities.
  • Monitors trends in educational technology researches vendors, products and services and recommends effective and appropriate learning solutions for both members and community.

  • Who are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related areas.
  • 4 - 6 years of professional experience and a minimum of 4 years of experience in financial education, people development or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience in instructional design, organizational development, education, or related field.
  • Demonstrate experience creating learning material/media (audio, video, e-learning, in-class/virtual classroom, simulations, role plays, etc).
  • Understanding of a Learning Management System
  • Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, social purpose, social finance, and shared value creation.
  • Understanding of the B Corp community.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver educational programs.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Office, and Excel and extensive knowledge of all features of PowerPoint software.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations to groups.
  • Focused and concise written and verbal summaries and effective questioning and listening skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse collaborators.
