Job Description
Our Return-to-Work Services department has an exciting new opportunity! We are looking for a Return-to-Work Planner to complete the preliminary claim review, worker and employer interviews, and collaborate with workers and employers in developing safe and suitable RTW plans.
In this role, you'll be accountable for the proactive management of claims and to educate and engage with employers on return-to-work planning.

How you'll make a difference: You'll provide compassionate, supportive service to people injured at work.
- Work in collaboration with staff in Claims and Rehabilitation Services and Prevention Services to proactively manage claims including developing and supporting recovery and RTW plans for injured workers and employers
- Communicate through telephone and written correspondence on personal inquiries in the context of RTW planning and support
- Contact the worker and employer to gather evidence, and provide claim information
- Keep current with applicable changes to legislation, policy, and relevant claims-related processes
- Review and document information on the claim file, including associated action item and confirm claim entitlement
- Independently plan, prioritize, and manage a complex & diverse caseload; coordinate activities and participants, while dealing with changing priorities
- Take initiative, provide leadership, motivate, and mentor others
- Independently gather and analyze information to make sound, evidence-based recommendations and apply problem solving techniques to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain positive, client focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- An undergraduate degree in health sciences, psychology, disability management, kinesiology or related program
- A minimum of one and a half years of experience in recovery, return to work, disability management or a combination thereof.
